I was wondering, if I was the only one who dislikes the look of the weapons in COD6 Modernwarfare 2.

In COD4 the weapons looked slick and authentic,
but I the blocky future looks of the weapons in Modernwarfare 2 dont appeal me.

    How about you guys?

    What do you think?

    Cheers

Well, they might be real or not. But I felt like playing Halo.

The SCAR is definately a 'real' weapon. I have the 16S version sitting in my gun safe.

As with most FN products they are a bit pricey.

Then why do you post here? Jesus.

Basically, all topics are pointless here, we are talking about frigging computer games after all!!

Plus, a few of my friends think the weapons look weird too.

Maybe he feels like all the weapons are just a bit too accurate for their own good. I mean, during single player I was owning with a 9mm pistol on Hardened. I could only imagine multiplayer.

The only thing that doesn't seem realistic about the guns is a silencer on a barret 50 cal, I didn't think that was possible in real-life

all "silencers" or more accurately known as suppressors, are very unrealistic in most games. You cannot suppress a gun down to a little "peew" because of bullet crack for sonic rounds, firing pin, and bolt. Suppressors are for either
    a) shooting at the range without the need for ear protection
b)making it near impossible for the enemy to tell where the shot came from.

    not at all

Well it does say in game that events are now 5 years later from the first one. Hang on, when was the first one released? Anyway, the weapons do look a little "futuristic" which I'm not the biggest fan of, but still believable. The weapons are too accurate though. Anyone shot a pistol before? I'd be lucky to hit a barn door 5 metres away, let alone a guys head at 20 metres like in MW2!

You should play Operation Flashpoint, if you want realism. COD is more arcade-y, but IW still did a good job trying to replicate the guns.

honestly, i can appreciate how MW2 replicated the different recoils between the different guns. the accuracy seems very normal to me, for a FPS game.

pistols are the easiest firearms to shoot cuz of their small caliber ammo. unless u are firing a .44 magnum or a .50 desert eagle, u shouldn't have any problems hittin a door from 10+ yrds away. open yur eyes next time! ;)

p.s. - MW2 is better in pretty much better every aspect, to me.

Pistols are not as easy to shoot as rifles, since you cannot hold them as stable and their light weight makes the recoil huge and lets the gun flip upwards.

I think the angle at which the weapons are shown make them look weird. Like the UMP looked a lot curvier than I'm used to seeing.

You can suppress it down quite a bit. To a slight tack, tack, tack sound. Just the receiver moving. Load your own or buy subsonic.

Notice how after the shooting happened, the background sounds/him talking got softer too? The person who made the video turned the sound down.

Another note about surpressors is in MW and MW 2 they reduce the range on a weapon. IRL, surpressors are like a barrel extensions. Wouldn't they give a slight bit MORE range?

As far as I know, it depends on the type of silencer. Certain types will reduce accuracy and range, but those are damaged after a few shots and must be replaced.

It won't give it more range really. The silencer has to stay in contact with the bullet allowing the gases to further accelerate the bullet.

They also affect the trajectory of the bullet, which is why most snipers won't carry them.
