LOL did anyone see the euro pricing? I saw this on kotaku:

"The fancy "Prestige Edition" - which includes a working set of night vision goggles - is priced at £120. That's just over $195."

So is this version for PC or only 360/PS3? Confused because i have not seen the pc branding on this version , and this also comes with a free COD1 download card? How would that work on PC , I already have the game of course (6 years ago).

These collector's edition releases are getting so ridiculous.

I guess its game themed and all but really has nothing to do with the game. usually a collectors edition is something for the game, artwork book, extra items in the game, something.

They need to make a prestige combat mode on the game where everything is so dark you have to use the NV goggles to see and then let them battle it out online so people can have fun with there money.

Just hope somebody doesnt turn the lights on in the room while your playing. :D

Sigh, this is just yet another childish attempt for Activision to cash in on dumb teenagers or very sad adults that think NVGs will make them more man-awesome somehow.

For anyone who is seriously considering dropping 150$ on this "prestige edition", take a moment to do a gut check. No I mean a literal gut check, notice how you don't have the washboard abs of a trained special forces operative? That's because you are in fact not Sam Fisher and having a pair of NVGs will only frighten you parents/neighbors.

On a side note, I seem to remember when EGM/1up did a similar "unveiling" for the halo 3 legendary edition. I just hope this kind of stuff is not becoming a new lame marketing trend for the gaming industry.

Please, quit tickling your navel -- it's gross.

I am quick to boast build a better product; give consumers something they'll appreciate and a big proponent of companies going out of their way to appease and lavish their consumers. Activision listened, and I am thankful with the cagey manner in which they're attempting to obstruct piracy.

    As for "gut-check":

It's quite a good deal really. The cheapest head mounted NVGs in general were those toy eyeclops things, retailing for around $75. I believe those were monoculars too, believe I saw binocular ones at harbor freight for $200. Add in the metal case, mannequin head, and art book, and COD1 (and MW2 of course) and youve got a good value. Nothing I see is really all that over priced.

It's cool to see game devs going for the out of ordinary. Refreshing.

Well considering its about $70 for the game up here, id pay double for the NVG, that would be so handy, I would drive with them! :)

    kidding

But they would be useful for pranks and sneaking and so many other fun activities :)

I'm sure they had to be large to be cheap, because current NVG tech is so much smaller these days, and IIRC alot of systems use combined NVG/IR.
