ok so when playing this game I have lag. Like a stutter when I look to the side. Is my system not good enough to play at default? I'm also using pinnacle so i can use my controller. Is this the reason?

It goes from 43 FPS to suddenly 16 during an explosion

it is, at heart, a framerate issue. your machine isn't fast enough at the settings you have chosen.

granted, there are some settings that increase framerate a LOT without much reduction in image quality.

the reason that you only notice when you turn is related to our perception of fluid motion, but the framerate isn't any worse when turning.

its sort of related to the reason that looking at a still brick wall at 1 frame per second seems fluid, while other scenes with more motion require 30 or 40 or even more frames per second to seem fluid.

Open the console, and type com_maxfps "30" to limit your fps to 30 (vsync at a lower cap). This should eliminate stutter

no, the 9600 is not powerful enough to run cod5 with those settings on. Run in a lower res, and lower the settings, or play at 20 fps :D

I know for a fact the 9600M can max WaW, because I have myself, although I've overclocked quite a bit and I have an above average cpu. Again, do what I said above, com_maxfps "30" in the console. This will eliminate stutter, which I can guarantee is your problem. To benchmark it, I use the starting cutscene of the second mission. It's intense and at my settings, 1366 x 768, maxed with 4x AF, I get 30 FPS all the way through (using of course the console fix).

    So I pasted this: Exactly in : com_maxfps "30

    is that right?

My resolution is a bit higher than yours. Maybe thats why it wasnt smooth when I tried it

    com_maxfps "30"

    I think..

We have nearly identical res. But my OC (which you should try) is probably adding 25% more performance.

make sure you add a / in front of that to make the change permanent, if not you will have to do it everytime you run the game.

    /com_maxfps 30

default is 90, but 30 is not playable in multiplayer...and i dont even know if its decent in single...but hey.

Multiplayer the command won't even work, but multiplayer is smooth anyway, 60+ FPS typically. SP is a resource hog, and personally I'm not bothered by 30 FPS when it's not competitive :p

    You're wrong.

/com_maxfps 30,125,90,999 whatever value you want does work and will be permanent in multiplayer.

You are confusing the command to display FPS which does not work in multiplayer which is /cg_drawfps 1-4, that command only works in single player for now. This will be addressed in the upcoming patch.

Let's not be too stereotypical here. Overclocking can destroy your card, but if you're careful and follow instructions, you probably won't destroy anything. Yes, it's a risk, but usually only the brash get burned (sorry for the pun).
