I just got CodWaW and am playing it on my m1530. Computer specs in sig. It seems that my system struggles to run it. Is this normal? When I set the resolution to 1400x900 I am only getting about 17-26 fps. I have AA turned off along with almost everything else. When I turn the resolution down to I think its 1280x768 I get about 25-35 fps but it is still jerky. Is this normal for an m1530 with a 8600gt?

Sounds weird. With a 8400m gts, i was playing CoD4 at 1024 768 high, no shadows and none of that useless. Stuff.
So you should be able to play it at max. At 1280 800. -
I have CoD4 and I can play it at 1400x900 if I turn the shadows, AA, etc. off. On CoD4 I get 35-60 fps. When I am using the flame thrower is WaW my fps drops to about 15-22.

i play COD on my 9200m GS
-
i think you guys should wait for a more recent driver to come out
-
You sure youre not in power saver mode or something?
-
What driver are you on? I play on 1440x900 and get pretty good FPS.
-
I-myself have a crap performance.. 30-40FPS, expecting the double soon.. same thing happened with COD4 for me when it first came out
-
i got poor performance with the beta even when i turned most of the stuff down.
-
My friend's 1530 handled it fine as far as I could tell. There was only a little lag when flamethrower was used. He was playing at 1440x900.
-
Are you playing single player or multiplayer? I a 8600m gt oc to 550/700/1250 and have spec. map and shadows turn off and I average around 30 fps in multiplayer. In single player however, I get much lower fps, especially in the iron and tank level were it drops to single digits.

I'm using 176.44 drivers. Will newer drivers make a noticable difference? I had tried some newer ones about 6 weeks ago, but they made the computer unstable so I just stuck with the Dell drivers. Is there a newer driver that would have increased performance for CoD and still be stable on my m1530? Yes, I checked my power saving mode. It does seem that single player is the only problem. When I play multiplayer I can do 1400x900 with only a few hiccups here and there if I turn most things off or down. On single player it is jerky with 1400x900 most of the time.
-
It might. He was running 180.48 drivers off of laptopvideo2go.
-
change your drivers, you should be close to maxing out that game with constant 30+ fps @ your resolution.
-
anyone else not able to use their 360 wired controller for this game?
-
The 360 controller doesn't support CoD by default IIRC, but you can get it to work by using a program like Xpadder
-
I'm using 180.44 .. with AA off, max settings @ 1280 x 800 --> it's like butter. Works well at 1440 x 900 as well, with a few tweaks, but I find 1280 x 800 is better for multiplayer
-
I haven't tried CoD5 yet but I too run run 4 maxed out at 1280x800 with some AA as well, I think and it runs butter smooth
-
cod 4 ran a lot better than cod:WAW for me.
-
My HDX runs WaW maxed, 8x AF, at 1366 x 768, rarely goes below 25 FPS, usually 30-60, but that's not the problem. I get a lot of stuttering instead, specifically in busy combat spots until everything is loaded. It's quite prominent and annoying, and I'm sure a lot of people have that problem.
Also, I have a good way of benchmarking your FPS. The beginning cutscene of the second mission, when you're riding the boat onto the beach, is pretty demanding. I get about an even 30 FPS through there. Turning res up to 1080p, it drops to about 15 -
I'll have to try it and see how it runs on my system @ 1280x800.
Hopefully I can play it at good settings with a decent framerate
