But of course, they had to smother that good news with the bad news that you need Steam for the game, no dedicated servers, mods, etc.
-
Good news but what about the dedicated server thing?
-
I know its been confirmed there's no mods, dedicated servers, etc.
But it is confirmed that you need Steam to run the game, just like with Valve games like L4D, Half Life 2, etc?
Great, so even if I buy the game by retail, I can't gift nor sell it unlike the console versions.
-
havent heard anything new on it. personally though im fine with it. alot of modded servers annoy me.

You know what not allowing dedicated servers means right?
-No Clan Wars.
-No Private Practice Servers.
-High Pings for EVERYONE not near the servers since they will all likely be centrally located.
-No Admins on servers = hackers, glitchers, and griefers will run amok.
-No Mods (Mods typically add and expand to the game thereby extending it's playful life). -

I have faith for IW to do what's needed to keep the PC experience amazing.

Uh-huh. If they were so confident in their ability to keep MW2 awesome despite not allowing dedicated servers don't you think they would have at least commented on the whole petition and preorder canceling going on?
Or does it look like they just don't care? -
Not delayed, but it was sent to die.
-
Who cares now. I mean really, the game is based around multiplayer. Now that they have decided to use a p2p matchmaking service instead of dedicated servers, they have thus killed the online aspect of the game a month before its release.
My question is this:
Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? Was fourzerotwo on a two week long meth binge when they thought this a good idea? -

Who cares about the Steam issue? You want to gift it? Actually buy a sealed copy for someone.
As for PC games, you could never sell them considering you have the CD-key. -
i hope they're not just rushing out a crappier console port...
-
Several games lately have given you multiple activations, so I could install the game on my PC, use up one activation. Some games also give a tool to revoke an authorization so if I sell it to a friend, he has an untouched copy of the game.
Since we're already getting a gimped console multiplayer experience, I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to limit the resolution to 1024x600, what the consoles are rendered at!
It will pretty much be a console port, just with the ability to run at higher resolutions and AA but that's about it.
Frankly with all the ****ing they've done with the PC version, I'm surprised a PC version is even coming out at all, just like COD3 didn't get a PC release.
