    Hey guys,

I was wondering is 25 FPS acceptable for an 8600GT in COD4? my game just seems alittle jerky and not as fluid..

    Specs,

    WinXP Home

    1.83 Ghz Core 2 Duo
    2Gig Ram DDR2 667
    80GB 5400rpm HD
    8600GT 256mb Stock Clocks
    169.09 L2G drivers

Everything is all normal Res is native 1280x800 No AA or AF soften smoke edges off.

    Thanks

Which 8600GT do you have, the DDR2 or GDDR3? It seems okay, but I can get 35 with my Quadro FX 570m.

Is that in single player or multiplayer mode?

Single player is extremely intensive in terms of graphics. You will get a much higher FPS when you are playing online.

EDIT: Also you should turn off shadows and depth of field, they are useless and will eat up a lot of resources.

Whoops its the GDDR2 Version and I'm playing Multiplayer.

Edit: Turned off Shadows and Depth of Field FPS is now in the high 30's to mid 40's.

Thanks for your help running smoother now

just get rid of most of the graphics entirely. run it at 800 x 600 and anjoy the game play. you will still be able to see stuff. but at least you won't drop below 20 - 25 fps.
