    Hey all.

I have a LEGAL, PURCHASED COPY of Call of Duty 4, and I installed it on my PC a few months ago. Recently I got my new laptop and I installed it on the laptop with the same CD-Key and such (I never go on my desktop anymore, so the laptop is my new primary). I noticed that the information on 'levels' is locally stored on the PC as the game on my new computer started at level 1.

To the question... is there files or something that I can transfer over from my old PC to my new PC so I can resume at the level I was at? I noticed that the level and such aren't tied to the CD-key, rather the installation on the local PC.

    Thanks!

I was also wondering this same thing, as it would really suck to have to start over.

Copy the "players" folder (usually C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\) from you current COD4 installation folder into your new COD4 installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\). As long as you install using the same key code, you'll be able to continue from the same level.

I just got my copy a few day sago, um to rank 20 or so, you level pretty fast considering I only just started and have not put too much time into it.

Id like to transfer my stuff over to my laptop as well I guess. I was just going to use a previously posted method of "hacking" to get all the unlocks, but I think your rank resets. Its not real hacking so thats why its in quotes.

Yeah I am doing it the "hard" way as we speak if 3 days of playing is hard.

Up to Gunny 1 I think it is with just a handfull of hours of play.

I really like to be a sniper in most games, as that was a passion of mine in real life. But I find in 95% of most maps sniping sucks and you get many many more kills and stay alive longer with an assault rifle or smg.

Heck most of the assult rifles seem to take somebody out just as easy from a distance as the sniper rifle if not easier due to none of that scope bob stuff.

I'll have to try and master the bolt action rifle that I unlock next since that way I can be a true sniper, the semi auto's seriously are not worth it, may as well use the M4.

My new avatar I just cooked up temporary actually ties into this, that emblem in the middle is the Marine Corps expert rifle badge. Thats the highest qualifcation with a rifle and what I got when I was in the Marines. We are trained to be accurate with the M4 @ 200/300/500 yards using the iron sights, so even in real life the M4 makes a quite capable "sniper rifle" @ 300 yards I can say I could hit a person with 99% accuracy. At 500 yards id have to be prone and its sort of a crap shoot because wind moves your bullet quite abit and I cant even see a person that far. The target we shoot at from that far is about 6'x6' and I still managed over half my shots in the black center area, but a person is harder to see as while maybe clost to 6' tall they are not 6' wide :p

You absolutely have to be prone at 500 yards, the target is just a needle tip in size on on the iron sights, and just the slightest vibration or movement of any sort can take you completely off the target.
