So can anyone tell me how these two games stack up with bf2 as far as team play? The main thing I enjoyed so much in bf2 was spawning to your team mate. Can u do either in these games? Quake wars is ok but wish u could spawn to others.

the bf series is completely different than cod4 and crysis. bf2 is way more teambased and its easy to play with a friend because u can spawn right where they are at in a squad... this however is not possible in COD4 which is a bit upsetting because i can never really play with a friend because we hardly see eachother. cod4 however probably wouldnt be all that great with "team spawning" because of the fast paced gameplay and smaller maps than something like bf2... as for crysis - i just dont like the game mechanics in multiplayer. the whole sequence of events to win gets stale and there isnt as much teamplay even compared to cod4.. imo, crysis mp just plain sucks unfortunately, especially compared to the other mp games out there. crysis is just for sp in my view.

as for quake wars, i didn't really enjoy it.. i'd much rather play bf2 or bf2142 anyday.

Yes. I agree 100%. Would like to play a game with a friend and spawning to each other is great fun. Am not going to buy either one unless you can do the above. Have to wait for another mp that has this feature before I drop another 50 bucks. Bf3 is to be out this summer.....sit and wait for the bugs and game play in that game.

I mistakenly posted wrong, so I have cleared my post. I started another thread to compare BF2 and COD4.

cod 4 is a mixture of counter-strike and bf2. bf2 is bf2. both are great in their own respected ways. bf2 i think is the overal better mp but cod 4 is a refreshing game style.

    BF2 and CoD4, multiplayer:
both really similar, except BF2 is now and CoD is in WW2. Also CoD4 has better graphics and is more lifelike.

    Singleplayer:
I dont think BF2 has a single player. On the PS2 it does. CoD4's single player is short but is something that will be played multiple times

GRAW2 gets my vote :D I like stealth shooters

BF2 can be had for cheap; COD4, having just come out is fairly expensive.

BF2 has usable vehicles; as of now, I've heard COD4 does not, even if they show them in the commercials. ???

COD4 has an actual, linear "single-player" from what I've read, albeit short; BF2's single-player is basically instant action with bots.

BF2 has a pretty well-established modding community; COD4 is brand new, though I'm sure if possible, it will develop a good bit of mods too.

I don't have COD4 yet, so if I'm wrong, I stand corrected. BF2 is a well-made, well-rounded FPS and I doubt anyone would disagree with that.

CoD 4 has little to no teamplay, so forget about it. Even in team-based objective matches all people do is kill for exp, so its just team deathmatch reguardless of what mode. Crysis MP is better than CoD 4's because areas are much more open and there's room for team play. The only problem here is that the game doesnt implement features to encourage teamplay. I played the beta and teamwork rocked when it was pulled off but unless you pair up with someone or a group socially your pretty much on your own. Like someone said above BF2 is a completely different game in some respects. It's much more teambased and that's why I love BF2 and still play it today.

bf series and cod series are just not able to be compared easily. bf2 is a "massive vehicle/infantry" game where as cod4 is a fast paced shooter.

bf series = more teamwork / more strategy / vehicles / more players / bigger maps / better "domination" mode (taking over strategic points)

cod4 = faster / got to be always mobile / smaller maps / less team play / just more intense overall

if you want a massive battlefield game, of course go with bf2. if you want a fast paced intense firefight in a relatively small area w/o vehicles, go cod4

but like i said, u really shouldnt compare these two games.. they are much too different. persnally i play them both right now, but cod4 seems to be taking more of my time.

What do expect from pub servers? Try to play at tactical hardcore servers.(removed HUD, real weapon damage) You wont even survive for a minute if you dont hang on tight with your teammates.

Yes, even in hardcore servers i've seen Rambos running towards the front lines getting themselves killed. It's also usually a grenade-fest.
