I hold shift + w down to run in the game however after a few seconds my character stops running, and i have to repress shift+w.... is this a common issue? do you think this is due to me using a wireless keyboard??
    thanks

That's just the character getting tired, you can't run forever, in fact once your character stops and you start running again you won't be able to run the same distance unless you rest for some seconds... There's even a perk in multiplayer to be able to sprint for longer distances...

Emm... he might not be such a "n00b" as you think. lol

I do occasionally have the same problem, and is after maybe 1 second of running, the character stops and you have to press shift again.

Think it maybe something to do with multiplayer connections etc.

I cant even remember if it still happens to me or not...

    Same here.

It only seems to happen on servers with a high ping. So I assume that it must be a connection problem.

You got it... When you're holding down shift your sending data to the server that you are in run mode, but when your ping is high the signal gets cut off to try and maintain as much as your traveling direction as possible. Not really a glitch, it's more about the software trying to keep things intact for the player. When the connection is slow, it can't keep up with the player running.

Thought it was something to do with that! Even if there isnt a fix as such for this at least we know what is causing it!
