im really pissed off with my game right now, i install genesis rising, and they wanted me to switch to windows mode. i did that, and went into the game and changed it to 800*600. the game worked fine. when i start my other games, i can only hear the sounds(which are fine) but i cant see anything.

so my question is, is there anyway to change the resolution without starting the game up. and please be specific when explaining.

    thank you

P.S.> for my other games, would i change the res. the same way or is every game differnent?

Have you tried rebooting your computer?

If so, have you tried upgrading your graphics driver?

What type of resolution are you talking about? Your actual Windows desktop resolution or the in-game resolution.

Right click on an empty space on your desktop > Properties > Settings and change the resolution back to your monitors native (original) resolution.

You can only change the res of a game when you're inside the game. Another way would be to edit the settings files of every game, but where the settings are kept is different per game.

Every game can run at a different res. How high you can go depends on how demanding the game is on your system.

You just have to find the config for the game and open it with Notepad for example and look for supported resolution.
I added some custom resolution to older games like that...
