What's the point of this level? I read that if you go to the playground, you can hear kids talking ... I only heard swings and creaking ... What's the real point of this level?

i play games to be immersed in the virtual environment. this one happens to be very good... even when you don't do anything meaningful, the experience can still be great... such as at the beginning of hl2.

i guess i'm one of few who doesn't play game for a sense of accomplishment.

A young soldier crawls out of the ruins of the chopper that was to take him to safety and dies alone on a blasted, dead, battlefield of some foreign country fighting an enemy, that without thought or regret vaporised it's own population just for a chance at revenge, and you don't understand the "point" of it, and it's a "funny one"?

It advances the plot. Like when you're reading a book and the author kills one of the leading characters in a crucial moment that leads to the final act.

You gotta understand the single player campaign of COD4 like a military technothriller (and a very good one at that) that you play, instead of read or watch.

In fact, the plot of COD4 is a kind of Sum of All Fears meets Rainbow Six meets Black Hawk Down.
