I had the same issue with the COD4 server browser, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Seems like they never fixed it, that's pretty sad if you think about it.
-
wow thats really dumb, i finally got it to work, its off and on tho, youd think a game as popular as cod4 would have stuff like this fixed?
-
From the looks of it the game WAS popular... Either everyone move on to the next game or playing something else.
-
^ its still a very popular game
-
every time i start it up that whole "would you like to configure your system optimally?" message comes up for me as well. if it affected my game id be angry, but it doesnt do much except cause me to click one extra time before the game launches....not really a big deal at all
-
Yea thats what happens to me too, its not effecting my game anymore. if you would pres yes it would set all your setting back to default.
-
Maybe try entering your Key Code in Multiplayer Options. Could it be not activated or something?
As for that "your computer appears ..." message, I always get that if I had changed the resolution or fiddled with the graphic settings last time I played. Its no big deal just hit No. -
Yeah, I always get that message too. I know I like to tweak with things but it's definitely oversensitive! I always hit No, too.
That's weird about the game browser, though. I do notice that sometimes it doesn't get very many games, after half an hour earlier it had got a full list. But it always finds at least one unless I made a mistake (setting it to only local or favorites, for instance) or there's a network issue. The problem isn't that there isn't anyone playing, there's still usually 8000 servers or so online. -
This happens to me too! So I usually just stick to my favorites list...I just keep restarting the game until it gives me a list.
-
the server browser is very finicky for sure. I honestly think my server I rent from gameservers has issues showing on the master list.
Hopefully that issue dosent come back in Black Ops,where my server will most likely be switched to. -
It does this because it doesn't seem to know what SpeedStep is (which is downright insane for a game from 2007). It thinks you're constantly swapping out your CPU because it always sees a different clockspeed.
COD4: no servers found.
