    COUNTERSTRIKE crashes laptop, but it works in safe mode

    as in the title, i can log into steam and chat with friends fine on steam friends, but when i try to load up source or 1.6 it crashes and freezes my whole computer forcing me to do a force restart.

    for 1.6 it freezes up on the first main menu screen, but without the options, ex/ find servers, options, quit, etc...

    for source it freezes while im actually about to go into the server, when the loading bar is like 3/4 the way...

    it was working literally like an hour ago. i rebooted and it doesnt work all of the sudden, i did install some drivers for audio/atk hotkeys, but that probably wouldnt affect it. im thinking its the video card drivers, yet i have installed the latest ones.

    I did try playing 1.6 in SAFE MODE and it worked, but i was forced to play on software mode which is really ****ty.

    any help would be much appreciated

    try to revert back to a driver that was workin well for u.
