If i were to get a Intel Core 2 duo 2.0ghz processor, would there be a noticible gaming performance impact vs a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz processor? Thanks.

There will not be a noticeable difference.

Nope, they will both be fine for gaming. If anything is going to hold you up, it will be the GPU. I would go for the Core 2 as well since it is 64 bit, even though there isn't a lot of 64 bit software........yet.........

The Core 2 Duo T7200 is a great processor because it has a great price-to-performance ratio. The increased L2 cache (4 MB, compared to 2 MB in its younger siblings) results in a lot of that performance gain, up to 10-15%. After that, the T7400 (the 2.16 Ghz processor) and the T7600 (the 2.33 Ghz processor) all have the same amount of L2 cache: 4 MB. Increasing clock speeds doesn't increase performance quite as much as an increase in both clock speeds AND L2 cache, which the T7200 does over the T5600 (1.83 Ghz, 2 MB L2 cache).
