Some games (Half-life 2 I know for sure) have released a patch for 64-bit processors, which are supposed to take more advantage of the CPU, and potentially make the game run much faster. I believe you need a 64-bit supported OS to take advantage of this though, so that doesn't really benifit you yet :( . I suggest overclocking your radeon x600, but that can technicly void the warrenty (which is why i avoid overclocking). To answer your question, the CPU usually doesn't matter a whole lot when playing games.

The GPU is going to be your bottleneck; the X600 is a pretty limited but still capable card.

As long as you have a decent CPU, you can't really go wrong. AMD processors are generally the 'best' for gaming, but I'm not going to start a holy war here. Your processor, the AMD Athlon (Mobile) 4000+ is as good as it gets in a notebook for a single-core processor.

You can help your performance by getting more RAM - 1GB is the minimum I would game with. Also, getting the latest set of drivers will help. The latest are the Mobility Catalyst 6.3 - there's a thread on it in this forum. Use the direct link to download.
