I have the Gateway P-6831FX stock except for another 320gb hard drive. My frame rates in WAR are fairly decent. The only time I experience significant lag is during RvR battles and highly populated areas.

My question is would upgrading to a T8300 drastically improve my frame rates? I'm not sure if WAR is a CPU heavy or video card heavy game.

every MMO is heavy on CPU and kind of light on GPU. a better CPU will greatly help in WAR, because from what ive seen, the areas are very crowded.

That's good to know. I'm glad to hear that I'm able to easily get a nice performance boost!

I'd have to agree with this. However, this game is still young and will still go through some performance optimization on both server and client side. Make sure you have 2 gigs of RAM too (didn't look at your specs).

Do you get latency spikes in those big RVR battles?

I don't know I'll have to monitor but I have 3 gigs of ram.

his ram is very sufficient believe me, its either he wait for patches (which will definatly increase performance) or get a newer CPU, but maybe he should wait a bit more before deciding.

Buff throttle and shadows will help alot. Especially the buff throttle in large RVR battles.

I have buff throttle, and it helped but it's not making a huge difference like some people claim. I've looked up and done a few performance tweaks. For the most part, it's smooth but I was doing T2 scenarios the other night and it would stutter pretty badly during some spots, especially during high concentration of players on screen.

I needed a better CPU anyways as the stock one just doesn't cut it anymore for many other things other than WAR, so it's worth getting regardless. Once I finally have it installed and running, I'll let everyone know if I notice a huge difference or not.
