I have been playing this game "KnightOnline" (MMO, 3D game) for sometime. I have noticed a few things. When I play with the nc8430, my temp runs at 73C and the CPU is constant at 50% all the time

Now when I play on the nc8510p it runs at 55-60C and the CPU chugs along at 25% usage.

Is there something wrong with the nc8430? In idle stat the temp is about 48C

    Thoughts?

There's nothing wrong with it. It's just the difference in the cooling system of the laptop.

Will runnign at 75C ruin my CPU or shorten the life? I do run with a Nootbook cooler as well. Saves about 5C

Have you tried blowing air into the vents of your laptop to remove dust?

Undervolting will help. I'd guess your processor should be fine up to the low 70's but any more for a significant amount of time and your in dangerous territory.
