I have currently started playing crysis 2 on l502x( specs in my signature) with i5 and gt 525m 1gb graphics( 6 gb ddr3 1333mhz ram), I find 3 graphic options in the game hardcore, gamer and advanced, ,y doubt is how do I interpret this as in med, high and ultra high. currently running it on hardcore, wanna check how far I can push the graphics, need suggestions please. Thank you

Also youre not running the patched game?
Because the patched game starting from patch 1 changes a few things.
The settings should be named high, very high and extreme.
Prolly youre running a pirate version? The retail one auto updates everytime you launch it.
Anyway its not my job to judge, as your question yes, gamers is low, advanced is medium and hardcore is very high.

No that's not right. Gamer is High. Advanced is Very High. Hardcore is extreme. There is no low setting for Crysis 2. This was specifically stated over and over, time and again in every interview CryTek gave. If you don't have the rig to run Crysis 2 on PC, then play it on console. That's the only option you have. 525M and push it on Extreme? You have got to be joking. Maybe the 525M can run it on high, that's all you can hope for. Reduce the resolution as much as you can.

Yeah i know what are the real settings, i was just telling him that his assumption is somewhat correct. Being Gamer the lowest setting and Hardcore the higher, thats all.
Also dunno what fps he's getting in Hardcore with such card, but i guess nothing really playable, maybe in the mid 20's.

once the game was installed it automatically downloaded patch to V 1.2.Its retail thank you :D
It was running on hardcore for the first 6 or odd checkpoints, then I changed it to Advanced FPS around 35 to 40's (the card is not OCD), If I Overclock it I can run it on Advanced( normally it runs around 27 to 28 FPS) I guess. thank you for your input guys :D

My Crysis 2 is patched to v1.4 and i can choose either, High, Very High or Extreme.
The old setting names got renamed.

Also looks like i can finally stay online for more than 2 rounds. :D

Still, the "High" in Crysis 2 does NOT equal "High" in Crysis 1. It equals a mixture of medium and low IMO.

It equals high. Crysis 2 just lacks some features that Crysis 1 has like POM. And plus it's hard to compare since Crysis 2 uses deferred shading and lighting. So really, I wouldn't bother comparing.

Yes and no. Crysis 2 is only good in the lighting and shading department specially due to deferred rendering. Textures and objects are not better than Crysis 1. Still, it doesn't hide the fact that it doesn't run good in my machine :(

M2033 at DX11 runs better than this...

I agree, I picked this up yesterday and the graphics are a step backwords compared to one if you ask me. What I see is the much hated (by me) console look. I gotta go find those commands where supposedly you can turn some of the stuff on or up.
