If you see the recommended requirements: http://www.crysis-online.com/Information/System Requirements/ than you can see that there are lot of notebooks than run it (almost ot totally on highest settings). e.g dual Geforce 7950 will can run it on highest settings for sure :D

Benchmarks for notebook graphic cards can you find here: http://www.notebookcheck.com/Mobile-Grafikkarten-Benchmarkliste.735.0.html

Whether HP has such notebooks or not I don't know but visit hp.com and read the specs.

The HP HDX could probably run it...

My question to you (topic starter... ) and myself is at what settings!?!? I want it MAXED OUT with ALL physics effects and eye candy :D

My second thought is at what resolution?

Maybe SLi 7950s can run it max but people with desktop 8800s at 1900x1200 res at max everything experience stuttering. No laptop will run it with everything at max comfortably.

Sure, many notebooks can (probably) run it at max settings if you lower the resolution enough, for example SLI 79xxGTX, SLI 8700M-GT, maybe even a single 7950GTX.

And probably untrue, it's highly doubtful that means a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, though I suppose it's possible. As for the VRAM, that's probably true, though I imagine that's recommended requirements for a higher resolution, e.g. 1600x1200 or 1680x1050. I have no doubts that you could still max it out on a 320mb 8800GTS if you lower the resolution.

Well from my own experience at 1680x1050 the 8800GTS 640mb does the MP on the max in the beta.

To play on my TV though with 1920x1080, I have to put some stuff down to Med. And when I lowered it to 1024x786 on my laptop, it didn't help too much, somethings could go on high, but all med was still better, in which case I might as well use the 1280x800 resolution.

I doubt you could get a 15.4" or smaller that could max it, a 17" with a 8700mGT or better/equal SHOULD be able to do all High plus a decent resolution, not sure about AA though.

It's still really all up in the air, as optimization is no where near complete on the game. Remember they still have another month and some days to do stuff before it's the final printed DVDs. And even that updates could make it even better.

You need a DX10 videocard to play this game on max settings. That's a fact, because only DX10 will allow you to enable every graphical option available. Which means your options for a laptop are limited. The 8700m GT is the best available right now, but I doubt you'll be playing Crysis with that card with all the eyecandy enabled (regardless of which resolution you use). So your best option would be a laptop with 2 8700. GT's in SLI mode.

Well after my week on this forum, ive found out the following:

Crysis will only run with PHYSICS and EFFECTS such as global day & night, trees falling, breaking stuff, and lots and lots more... ONLY ON DX10 So whoever is going to play crysis on DX9 is seriously insane...

Crysis is in beta so people who says that gamers with 8800gtx are struggling with crysis ... BS, its still undergoing tweaking and debugging, and will MAYBE be delayed further for even better performance.

I have trouble believing you need a 7950 GTX or 8700m GT to truly experience this game when it's finally released, why would they do that - sales would tank.

I was pretty excited to grab this game right away but now I'm gonna wait until some 8600m GT people report how it is, if it's not good - c u later crysis.

So you believe that 8700gt sli will run it at maxed out settings with all physics and effects at minimum 1280*800 with lowest fps at 25? Or lets say average of at least 25fps (assides if a tiny freeze occurs and you drop down to 7)

What do you excpect??!! They have been rumoring for 2 years that you will need a killer rig for maxed out settings....

BTW its compatible with DX8 so dont worry, youll just be playing it at lower settings... jeeez

I mean I know many people who have a computer, not a gaming pc, and playing bioshock for example at low/med settings... You cant excpect to play a brand new game maxed out with minimum 30fps with a low/mid end gpu... come on... ITS CRYSIS

That's sad. 8600m is quite new - only 3-month old, and Performance-level gpu, not low/mid...!

That's hard to tell, because nobody has played Crysis in DX10 yet. You will have to wait until the demo is released to find out what kind of laptop can handle it with everything maxed in DX10. So my advice is, don't buy your laptop before the game is out.

It is a performance card. Nvidia names mid-range card performance and their high ends as enthusiast level.

God the specualtion is so annoying. Wait till the demo comes out and see for yourself and actual data instead of "I heard" from basicaly a source that is doing nothing but guessing.

Been playing the MP Beta for about a week now.

In its current state, my Go 7950 GTX can not comfortably play at all high settings @ 1280x800 (no AA): I get a good 10 FPS (this is with the 163.69 drivers), which is unplayable. I play with all medium settings (except shadows and physics on low), and get around 30 fps.

It's important to note that the game and drivers are very unoptimized at the moment, so hopefully I'll be able to do bump up to high or mostly-high by the time the game is released.

My friend got into the beta as well, and he has an 8600M GT in a Macbook Pro. I don't know what framerates he gets, but he plays at 1024x768, mostly low/some medium settings. He'll probably (hopefully) be able to bump up to mostly medium settings once the game is out.

Even after it's released, nothing short of SLI Go 7950 GTX's will be playing this at all high settings at high resolutions (1680x1050 or higher).

Well we are not excpecting the 8700gt to be insane at DX10 games... so like its not going to go from 10fps on high settings (unoptimized right now) to about 30fps on high settings (optimized) Or am I wrong :D

My point is, I am buying a new laptop, how do I test Crysis once the demo comes out if I dont have a lappie :D Ill wait and see peoples results...

By the way, I am mainly waiting for decrease in price, new gpu, and least important a new really good laptop (M570RU, C90s, examples...)
