Hello, I'm having a problem playing cs:s. When i start a new game, everything loads very fast, but then when it gets to the last step which I think i like Intializing Game Data, it takes like 3 minutes to load. I don't know why. I mean before it loaded it all in a minute tops, and now it went wonkers. On the task manager it says CS:s uses about 164,777k. Can I make this any higher, if so, how? And HL2 is doing this as well. Before it would load in a minute tops, and the begnning steps are just as fast, but then it get's to the last step and slowsdown. Once Im in game, it works just fine and is smooth. This is with the computer in my sig. Please reply guys, I need some help.

I always thought that part was to to with your connection rather then computer, like the "Verifying Data" section in Battlefield.

Whenever I play Source, it loads in a few seconds but yes I get stuck at that part too, and I always get stuck for ages at the verifying data section in BF2 despite low loading times, so I just assumed the issues were the same.

I could be totally wrong though.

Oh, because Im running in offline mode, maybe that is the problem. Steam doesn't want to connect for some reason, even though my internet works. So im stuck playing in offline mode.

Check your firewall... add steam as an exception

Yeah, I dont know how. Xbox Live doesn't work either, or Gunbound. The firewall isn't from the router, it's from the dsl modem itselsf.
