Mine is 2.2 or around there. It depends on the surface and which mouse I decide to use.

Depends on DPI and mouse settings in the Windows Control Panel, but clearly this topic was just posted as a way to show off your e-***** with a ridiculous 16 sensitivity.

I actually have several friends who play at 16, it's not too ridiculously uncommon.

No need to play at high sensitivity. You just can't flick your wrist fast enough :p

    2.3 or so at, I think, 800 DPI on a G5.

Lies, 20 is the maximum value.

I use 3.0, 800dpi, Vsync at 60fps, and 5 notches from the lowest setting in Windows XP's control panel mouse app.

If you manually change your sensitivity in the console it can go beyond 20.

Well then. It's time to get a 4000dpi mouse, jack up mouse sensitivity in Windows, and play without a mousepad. I'll be able to make my character spin around with a slight nudge.

    I play at 2.5 normally.

How the hell can you people play any higher? I see some crazy numbers mentioned there...

    How the hell?

How can you control such sensitivity??! Thats just nuts!

Combining strafing and low sensitivity is just... common sense? how can you possibly control movement of the player nevermind movement of your mouse with such a high sensitivity!

Well, I play with my laptop, and I have limited space for my mouse. The mouse never moves more than half an inch each direction, so I have to have high sensitivity.

Does high or low sensitivity really make a difference, I thought it was a matter of taste.

This is probably one of the most useless posts ever. Not because of lack of information -- it'd actually be pretty neat to see a distribution of "true" sensitivities.

The problem is that there are so many different factors that go into this question, that the question itself is pretty useless.

    • Ingame sensitivity (what you are asking for)
    • Windows Sensitivity
    • DPI
    • Mouse Acceleration
    • CPL mouse fix (yes/no)
    • Mousing surface

i guess this might be the appropriate place to ask this question
does anyone know how to remove mouse acceleration in vista?
i saw something about patching the win32k.sys file
but i'm wondering about something along the lines of the cpl mouse fix for xp, that was just a .reg file

Don't forget to add the -noforcemaccel and -noforcemparms switches in your shortcut.

Also, as a side note, almost none of the top players use high sensitivity. Everyone favors large mousing surfaces, low sensitivity, and whole arm movement. I have 3 seasons cal-m 1.6, 6 seasons cal-m source, 1 season cal-i source, been to several lans, played at WSVG, etc... just trust me :)

i know, i do use those commands, but on my old computer, i used them and the mousefix and i think that it does make a difference if you use both
also, i would like to disable mouse acceleration just for normal windows use

I play between 2.5 and 3.5. Depends on the surface of the mouse and DPI etc. I usually play on a 1200dpi mouse.
