    CS:C Error on Vista

    I have installed and reinstalled CS:S all day long, and i still keep getting the error that it the hl2.exe file closes whenever i go to run it.

    It is a new laptop, and my friend with the exact same laptop with the same specs, his works fine.

    It is a E1705 with a Go 7900 gs with vista home premium. What would i need to do to get it working again?

    And reinstalling OS is out of the question?

    DL all updates for Windows Vista that are available.

    DL Graphic Card drive updates.

    Make sure that your firewall doesn't glitch it when it trys to connect to internet. So turn that off once while booting it.

    If that doesn't work... I would reinstall windows if it were me. CSS is a great game.. and worth the couple of hours reinstalling would take.

    Did you remember to install all of the current software/drivers for the E1705? For example, chipset, Dell Notebook software, DirectX June Update, latest Nvidia driver, etc. Also, did you install the Vista Compatability Update?
