The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hey all,

    I decided to fire up CS:S last week, and I was unable to find any servers whatsoever.

    Apparently this is a well documented issue in the community, and can be fixed by replacing the masterservers file, but everyone who mentions this solution neglects to provide a link to where an updated file can be downloaded. Can anyone here help a brother out?

    This problems happens sometimes too often. Try this:

    Create a server with bots, play for 2-3 mins, then exit the game and restart the Steam application. If that doesn't fix it delete the 'clientreg.blob' in your Steam folder and then restart.
