Other than the freezes it occasionally gets, whenever I load a server up, it loads all the way to "retrieving server info." After, it would take like 30 secs to get to "send client info." But most of the time, it stays at "retrieving server info" for awhile. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. This would occur when the server changes maps. Oh and on my old computer P4 with the FX 5200 and 512 RAM, it would load so much faster than what i have now (intel core 2 duo 2.00 ghtz 1 gig ram with an X1700. Can someone tell me why?

Also I want to tell you that an account called "account verification" usually add friends with anyone. However, it tells you that "your account is being used in 2 areas. Please leave your account name/password to make sure this is your account." Of course, i didnt leave a message to it. Just beware of those things.

ok well here is what i would try

when your in the steam my games list right click on css and click properties find the option to defragment game files
then verify your gcf files [it should be in the properties menu too]
if that still doesn't work go the official css forums
    http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/
and ask them there are lots of people that have found all types of solutions for this sort of thing :)

mine does that too when im connecting to a server, i think its normal and it just has to do with an internet thing between your computer and the server, so i wouldnt worry about it as long as your game runs fine other than that.

I did a steam check and it showed this:

    * Loaded Modules: Failed

The following loaded modules were found on your system. Please try exiting or uninstalling the application assoicated with them, and see if that resolves your issue
    o Module: C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeechEngines\Microsoft\spcommon.dll
    common.dll is WebSearch toolbar
    For more information, click here
    Severity: Low

i dont know what it is but everything else i passed.

EDIT: this may not be a problem. I believe this couldve been from Ventrilo?

If you havent played on the map before, the map layout and all the artifacts and textures have to be loaded. A faster Internet connection certainly will help, as it may increase the bandwith for sending packets. it may also lower your ping whilst playing.

Well whenever it (during game) freezes, the game closes and then shows this:

    "dumprep.exe application

the application failed to initialize properly (DX000012d). Click to terminate the application."

    what does this mean?
