This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    CSS error: "cl_restrict_server_"

    Tried to log into a new server but it kicked me out saying

    "cl_restrict_server_"

    What do I do???

    Ok I fixed it. I typed:

    cl_restrict_server_commands 0

    and now I can play on the server.

    hmm...I checked the forums too late. I know about this command :p.

    Basically this was changed in a recent steam update. It used to be set to 0 by default but it was changed 1.
    What it does is that it allows the servers to change certain options of yours. A server that I usually go to use it to restrict rates, so that everyone plays the same and nobody "rate-hacks". Of course I have no idea what a "rate hack" is but still... ;)
