    since this is taking place in the pacific i wonder if we will finally be able to get some dogfights in this series. i dont want to just gun airplanes. i rather pilot one and fly around while gunning air planes.

    Call of Duty is grounded in WW2, I liked Modern Warfare but not a patch on COD, or COD2 - I'd have preferred, as much as I love MW, if it had been another top notch WW2 title.

    Though it would be interesting for IW to take us through WWI, the US Civil War, etc......or even go a German campaign.

    I just hope they don't mess it up like COD 3 (which adding dogfights would do). Everyone knows how the war ended, so it doesn't really matter what the setting is, so long as the game is good. I would even be happy if it were just COD 2 with new missions.

    i'm pretty sure i'm not going to buy this game because it's made by Treyarch, instead of Infinity Ward. Treyarch created Call of Duty 3 and the new upcoming Call of Duty and Infinity Ward created the original Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Treyarch and Infiinity Ward switch after every Call of Duty game to producec the next one. Don't get me wrong, Treyarch is a fine developer who makes pretty solid games, but they dont even come close to what the folks at Infinity Ward do. I think im going to be still playing modern warfare until call of duty 6 rolls out.

    How about they do one on the Korean War or maybe to a smaller extent even the Falklands War.

    And i am not sure about them doing one on the Vietnam war. Most titles made on this theme have left a lot to be desired, except for maybe Vietcong and Men of Valor. And the had better change the person doing the weapon handling. The AK47 in COD4 felt almost exactly the same as the MP44 in COD1/2.

    If its called World at War, I wish they would make a game inclusive of all campaigns -maybe each level representing a period. Such as:

    Invasion of Poland
    Invasion of France
    Invasion of Russia
    Fighting in North Africa
    Fighting in the Pacific
    Invasion of Italy

    And so on. I'm getting absolutely fed up of the exact same, bland storyline in every game - Africa, Winter in Russia, then Normandy. What about the other campaigns??

    Well it uses a modified COD4 engine, so spec's would be in the same ballpark really....maybe a slight jump in minimum (ie 6600gt to 6800gt)

    Oh God yeah. I really miss a good Vietnam game with good graphics.

    This should be good though. I'd also like to see one on the Korean War and the Cold War (even though it wasn't hot, they could do a "what if" scenario).

    COD3 was a great game, that received a very positive response from fans and reviewers. There's always room for improvement, but you'd be in a small minority if you thought COD3 was actually bad.

    Yeah and Shell Shock Nam 67 was a great PS2 game. Worse ones were Conflict Vietnam and Vietcong. Plenty of nam games but WWII is just more "glorious."

    You think Shellshock was great and Vietcong was bad??

    Vietcong is the definitive Vietnam game! Maybe playing it now makes it look dated but as someone who played it when it was first released years and years ago I was blown away by how gritty, realistic and immersive it was. Battlefield Vietnam is the most popular but we all know that's not really applicable as its MP and more about action and fun then gritty realism.

    I think it would be interesting to have a game based on the 6 Day War in 1967 in Israel. Some of those conflicts would be fun to play since there would be newer technology and old technology mixed together. Although I am sure it would be a controversial game. I would still buy it though.
