Just got WAW, and for some reason, every time I try to start it, it minimizes to a small black screen, and it says it has stopped working, and needs to close.

    I have Vista 32-bit
I have downloaded the 1.1 Patch
    I have tried these drivers:

    180.84
    179.28
    181.00

None of them working for me at the moment. The only AV I have is Avast. I don't have problem running Crysis, GTA IV, Fallout 3, etc.

Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

P.S: I also installed the game on my External Hard Drive, and chose NOT to install Punkbuster when installing the game. I have Unreal and Combat Arms installed on the same HD, and both work fine.

does it give you an error?

also what sample rate are you using for your playback device?

You can also try looking at callofduty.com forums and see if any of the fixes there will help you.

To get the game to work you will need to delete your modem. I know it sounds crazy but will work. Open your control panel and open phone and modem. Select the Modem tab and remove the modem. You probably never use it anyway. You may restart before trying. It worked for me late last night.
