I have vista 32bit on my Asus g1s, and whenever i try to update CoD2 it says it cannot find any installation of it.
i have a genuine copy, and do not have this problem on my Xp desktop.

Chalk another one up for MS Vista.

I do know that the cod2 path has issues at times-I have used it once or twice and it didn't actually patch fully (did enough to not let me to repatch but didn't update the version you saw in game). I was forced to reinstall the game to get it to work, I might just bit the bullet and try that if I were you, but it does sound like another vista glitch.

Any idea when vista will be more stable? a service pack or something?
*edited*
Reinstalled it and still no luck. -
Bump, anyone use cod2 on vista and fixed this problem a different way?
-
Have you tried running that app in XP SP2 compatibility mode, turn off UAC, and run the app as an administrator? Both the game and the updater? -
Tried both, nothing different.

Are you installing the patch to the same location as you installed the game?
