I bought call of duty mw 2 and I can t finish the install. Im in japan for a while and after putting in the cd key it tells me the game is not available for purchase in my country?!?! Awesome, I have two disks for paperweights that cost me $50 sitting right beside me. Anybody have any suggestions around this? Otherwise, I think I'll take it back and get another online shooter. Does Bad company 2 require you to go thru steam for installation? If not I was thinking of that one. Thanks

Misleading title, for a second I thought you've bought Call of Duty 2 for $50 bucks!!!
Anyways, try using a US proxy server, that should fool the region check.
Bad Company 2 does not go through Steam, it has its own EA account server like previous Battlefield games. -
Sorry about the title. Anyways, here comes the newb question. How do I use a US proxy server? I have done some research on this. I've looked up lists us proxy server address and ports and typed them in and was using IE. I think they are all dead, cause the internet wont load pages. More importantly COD wont work. So do you know a good address or how i can find one? And am I doing this right?
