I've been playing this game for a week, single and multiplayer.

Recently, I started seeing these strange things happening. The uploaded images are from the single player. I've been attacked by faceless nazis and sometimes they're completely invisible. Look at the cube in my allies head. They look like doll faces and doll clothes, some weird kind of wallpaper. I also saw a sketched out car with similar graphics on the battlefield of the last level.

I've done a virus scan, hijack this, spybot and adaware... nada.

So, what the heck is going on? LOL

I thought of re-installing but that cube and the car I saw aren't part of the game. Is it possible I got a bug by downloading some maps while trying to enter a multiplayer server? Same with the invisible nazis?

The maps probably installed some new textures.

Is it possible to just uninstall those textures?

seriously, why would someone need textures of that cube in place of the face?
The faceless nazi is wearing an officer's uniform maybe that I could understand.

have you tried running the game again without the maps, like deleted/moved them somewhere and run the game?

it's possible when you installed your comp put textures and other stuff in wrong places and that's why you're getting what you're getting.

I played before installing the maps and things were fine, but I also hadn't progressed in the game as far as I am now.

I don't think it's an intall problem because that cube simply came from somewhere else.

    Attack of the headless nazis!

It's part of the game, don't fight it!

Just kidding, the cube is a texture mapping process, if you've ever done 3D modeling and had to texture it you'd see it's something exactly like that. You can make out some of the features (whether its a facial or hat map) by looking at a surface on that cube. They are often funkily colored for IDing until mapped onto the model.

These types of problems occur if textures are missing or some sort of mapping file is missing or if you dont have the latest drivers and directx (which Im sure you do). Pirated games also have this problem, not that I'm accusing you or anything. Try changing your graphics settings if they are allowed, such as VSYNC, rendering methods such as OpenGL and D3D and anything else like resolution that might be causing some sort of issue. I've had the zombies in HL2 disappear because I set the resolution to 800x600 for FPS testing but everything was perfect when I reset it to the 1440x900 optimum resolution.

    This is a retail game.

There were instances where I tried to enter a server game only to find out that a large file had to be downloaded and I canceled out. Maybe that had something to do with it.

So, what's the solution. Make sure I have the latest drivers and re-install?

Yes, that can be an attempt to fix it. Just backup the saved files to a separate folder so you don't have to redo the game again.

In COD4, you can freely exit a large file download (which is the server, mods, textures, etc.). I'm not sure but I do not believe it is in any way linked to the stand-alone single player.
