Dell XPS M1530 2.2ghz intel core 2 duo

Recently Ive been having FPS problems in JUST cod4. Most of my other games work fine (Counter Strike:Source, Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat:Source, and MMORPGs like CABAL ONLINE and MAPLE STORY.) Before the problem started occurring, I would get a steady 70-80fps 1280x800 no AA or VSYNC textures MAX and shadows off. Now i I can barely get about 25, when I do it will hover at about 32 for a second then go back down (no gunfire/low amount of players.) Ive tried 174.74 drivers from laptop2go, and now im using the 169.04 drivers, but to no avail. Im thinking its something to do with the game?   Help Appreciated.

Have you checked the temps of the card when playing? idk how old your laptop is but it could be a faulty card, an overheating card would cause that kind of performance decrease

Make sure your power setting is set to 'High Performance'

Make sure you don't have any rogue apps/services running in the background.

Make sure your virus scanner isn't doing a scan, same with Windows defender.

Stick with certified drivers if you're having problems - you can get 176.44 on Dells website. Leave the laptopvideo2go drivers to experienced users.

this is what I was thinking, I had simlar problems with fps dips, did everything from drivering changing, reinstalling the game, then I had realized that the power settings was on power saving. if thats not the problem then your card must be overheating and downclocking itself. check your temps

Also make sure you have the most recent BIOS, I think it was A09 last time I checked.

Thanks for all the help. Check the temps on my cards during gameplay and they were hovering at a very small 46C ( I have a nice laptop cooler). I defragged and that helped a little.....I reinstalled but it still wouldnt get about 40...and wow......it was on power saver mode :D
