COD 4 was working fine for a long time, but all the sudden i started to get low fps and its random. 3dmark is still gives me the same score but COD 4 is laggin. I even tried it putting it in low-med settings and it still lags. I tired multiple drivers and i still lag. I'm running vista x32, 8600gt, 2 gig ram.

I get about 90-95 degrees when playing COD4. I haven't installed 1.5 yet and its not on steam. Also to display fps in COD4 input "/cg_drawfps 1".

90-95 degrees C is really hot. Are you overclocking?

This could be one of 2 issues:

Realtek sound chip: install new driver (vers.1.84):
    http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/realtek-high-definition-driver-vista.html

Or: it's overheating. Open your laptop and remove any dust from the cooler system, after a while big chunks of fluff congregate in laptops fan systems and even a tiny bit of dust can ruin airflow especially when both cores and the graphics chip are running as with COD4. I would also recommend that you undervolt your processor, even undervolting a little will help enormously with heat.

I undervolted but when i'm still getting about 90 degrees when playing COD4. Also when it reaches 95 degrees, the laptop shuts off. I know i could change it with NHC, but should i change the settings so that it will only shut off when its 100 degrees?

No. Try cleaning your notebook/fans as kedu suggested and see if that helps with the temps.

install patch 1.5, it dropped my ping from 150 to about 100 whihc will help increase FPS and make it smoother.
