I'm trying to install COD4 and I can't it keeps saying this.

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

Anyone know how to fix this? I tried to use compatibility mode but it didn't help.

Is the setup.exe running through autorun? or are you clicking on one yourself?

have you updated all of you windows vista drivers?

Do you have a copy of the 32-bit cd?

I don't think there is a separate 64bit dvd for COE 4, is there?

This isn't a dvd copy of Call of Duty 4? I think your post title should be "direct2drive doesn't work yet again" - seriously, just buy a hard copy of games.... there has to be a store near you, or at least order it online with speedy delivery if you must.

But to the point, I don't know much about installing games from Direct2Drive, have you tried contacting them?

I got it to work, but not properly. I copied the COD4 folder off of my desktop, then went into the registry and saved the COD4 section and then went into the registry on my laptop and manually updated each entry.
