Call of Duty 5 first impressions.

Wow. Just wow.

Having been an avid player of the Beta, I knew COD5 would be good when finally released. Unfortunately, my shoes obsession, bad reviews and lazyness stopped me from purchasing it until recently.

I'm a big fan of the new dynamic introductions of each chapters, with the random names and dates popping up. Voice acting and the mouth syncing is again superb and the accents really well done.

COD5 starts off with a bang, with you being imprisoned by the Japs, and forcing you to watch teammates being slaughtered. A much more epic beginning than the crappy little tutorial COD4 offers, and helps set the tone of the rest of the chapter.

What I really like about COD5 over its predecessor is the sound and feel of the guns, now void of futuristic technology. I wish Treyarch didn't get rid of the nice *ding* every time you got a headshot though.

Overall, having played only a few chapters so far (including the excellant intro to the Russian campaign), I'd have to say COD5 is better than COD4.

 

I've had cod5 now since december, and have yet to play the singleplayer, i really dont buy cod games for the singleplayer aspect...its all about the multiplayer.

 

It has been awesome for me, and I will surely buy the next in the series when it comes out. P.S.- My multiplayer name is Colton25, so add me.

 

I have been playing it on Xbox for a while now. Single player (or coop campaign) is great fun. I found multi player gets old alittle quickly and some of the maps are alittle unbalanced. Fun none the less.

 

I thought that the single player was great, but i didn't really like the multi.

 

This game is awesome and I spend half of my day playing it, lol, but most of my time now a days.

 

Try playing on bolt only servers, there's the real challenge. Running around with one shot one kills.

 

I'll wait for price drop on Steam before getting it... as opposite to naticus, I buy the CoD series for their single player so I think its not worth the 49.99 since there's not much difference from the previous series.

 

I have this, but I'm waiting for my new mouse before I play it.

You can play CoD4 with your current mouse but not CoD5?

Or its just an excuse so that you don't finish new game too fast lol.

 

Pfft, I finished COD4 and reached 4th Prestige with a crappy 4 year old Microsoft Optical Mouse.
Now I have my Razer Copperhead, and I can say that my performance has increased but not by a noticeable amount.

 

A boost in confidence maybe? I'm those type lol.

 

just an fyi this is now Call of Duty 5, that game is still under development.

Anyway, how do you guys find the grenade in game? I read many review critic about how annoying it is.

I'm not playing any FPS that I haven't already started till I get the new mouse, the old one jitters which sort of wrecks the experience

I'm playing the single player campaign again bcuz I have already finished it

Maybe it is an excuse..............

 

so can someone please tell me how long the single player campaign in CoD WaW is......i dont really play much online so single player is hugely important to me, havent brought one FPS yet and want to add one to my list of games but want a long enjoyable single player to keep me interested.

I'm not sure about the length on CoD WaW, but don't get CoD4 beacuse the single player campaign is very short
I was done in two days, and can't play multiplayer a lot so........

Get BioShock. It has a fairly long single player campaign. I've found Call of Duty to be more multiplayer oriented.

 

I haven't even played the SP on this game. I've been pretty hooked on the MP since Christmas. I'll get around to eventually...

After playing the online MP for the first time recently I can understand how that can happen

should i buy it? I have a TON of gamestop credits due to selling all my xbox 360 stuff after the death of my xbox which my mother spead up rapidly by picking it up and throwing it on the ground in rapid succesion.

I loved CoD4, I just bought gears 2 and cod5 and was getting used to them(LOVED GEARS) and then the tragedy happened and it was gone. all gone...will gears 2 ever come out on pc?

 

It really depends on which level you play at, at Recruit I beat it in the matter of hours, but as it gets higher/harder it took longer, I've beaten everything up to hard, haven't had time to try out Veteran yet, which I expect to atleast take 5 days on my 5 Hour day gaming schedule *I'm slow I know xD*

 

Yeah me to, i've had COD4 since it came out and i have yet to even try playing the story mode, online only for me.

The one thing i don't like about world at war is that there are a lot of glitchers that go under the map so i stopped playing it, and i have a lot more fun on COD4

 

No, this is COD5, the game being made by Infinity Ward is called Call of Duty: Modern WarFare 2.

 

I just bought Call of Duty World at War, my sons play it on XBOX and it got my attention. I went to Circuit City 40% off and brought it home for $30. Installed fine but no sound. Installed the latest 256MB Patch 1.2 version, stil no sound. Searched activision site - tried everything listed - still no sound. I found this searching forums and IT WORKED

Now I'm playing single player and I like it...well worth it. Even though the 'grenade" keeps killing me If I can't run fast enough, ed if I'm gonna try to look around for a live grenade....ha ha

And this is how u do it in XP:

2. View System Info
3. Hardware
4. Device Manager
5. select Sound, Video, Game Controllers
6. DISABLE Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio device

 

I got this the other day. I like it better than COD4. I played COD4 for a week and got bored. I have only played the single player, because I wanted to check it out. I'm now stuck on this sniper thing. I tried to play MP a few min ago and got 0 servers that weren't full or empty. Overall, meh. I've never been impressed with Call of Duty. I don't see what the hype is about.

That sniper mission was really epic. I love the part when you and the guy are fending off swarms of enemies with two sniper rifles, waiting for the chopper.

The intro to the Russian campaign is awesome too.

 

I was talking about the COD5 sniper mission. Same principle. I'm not much of a sniper, it took me 500 tries to do that swarm part.

 

Which sniper mission?

I sorta specialize in sniping, second only to my Red Tiger Silenced M16 rampage

 

i think he means when you are the russian guy, Dimitri, or something like that. Where it's only you and the other guy at first, and you have to run through the building that is being burnt.

I really like the whole russian part of the game, and i'm not the best at sniping either but i didn't find it all that hard.

 

i got this game with my 260gtx that is coming soon. ill be looking to test the waters of this game. ive heard mixed things from friends though saying that cod4 is way better. what are your thoughts?

I also liked the first one on the boat, and the part where you provide gunship support, from the ship that was a load of fun too

This game actually gets much harder from normal to hard, I'm having more fun playing it now

 

I just spent like 4 hours playing COD4 online lol.
Now a master of silenced AK47 shooting from the hip

 

tey the M60E4, double tap, and steady aim, thats a monster for close range, 2 bullets to kill always(cept fur jugs).
