Man, that was a huge download ha I agree!

Just played the first mission and have to say the opening space scene is absolutely fantastic... I really hope there's more of that to come but we shall see. Really fun scene.

Only real issue so far is stuttering audio during the loading scenes, makes the videos almost unbearable to watch and is a real disconnect from the story unfortunately.

I skipped BO2 but with BF4 currently unplayable for me due to crashes, gonna enjoy some Ghosts until BF4 gets patched. Both are great in their respective ways

SP works fine, MP launches but mouse cursor wont move around I see it stuck in the top left corner. My windows cursor is there but will not interact with the game.

I can navigate through menu with keyboard though... So not sure what is up. Verifying game cache now see if that helps.

A lot of reviews posted today. General consensus is that the single-player campaign is refreshingly long compared to other CODs (10 hours), but the story and the acting isn't always compelling. MP is good, but to a certain degree more of the same. I'll be interested to hear owner reviews here.

I can honestly say it's an ok game but it feels alot different to any call of duty I have played before . I can see what IW where trying to do with the game but I actually think they have made it abit of a mess with this game . It's very poorly optimized for the decent hardware specs it wants people to have to play it . The biggest downfall is map size the multiplayer maps are far far too big ! which is making alot of people camp . I would honestly say they need to make the game 9 vs. 9 for all game modes for it to work because of the map size . They also took out my favorite game mode which is search and destroy . So overall it's ok but it's not as good as it could have been . I think I will wait a few weeks and go back to it on pc to see if they have patched any of the bad performance . Also I grabbed this screenshot to show how it's even that more graphically advanced then previous games .

I linked the image because the image is full hd res .

    still not fully downloaded yet.

glad to hear its a longer (10 hours) campaign
sad to hear the maps are too big. is that all the maps or are there 1 or 2 small fast paced maps. if not maybe there will be smaller maps in the 2 DLC's that are already showing in the steam folder.

Thanks your link helped. Strangely disabling AntiAliasing and changing priority to normal stopped my CPU running at around 80 degrees all the time (now at 60 which seems low!)

Unfortunately hasn't stopped the stuttering for me in Multiplayer even though I am between 60 and 90 FPS (v-sync makes it even worse). Singleplayer seems fine with no stuttering - and agree with previous poster the space level at the beginning is fun!

Wow the graphics are disappointing. Confirms my suspicion that they haven't improved much, if at all, since MW1.

They may have tacked on DirectX 11 support and some gimmicky Nvidia-proprietary stuff, but no matter how much Infinity Ward tries to deny or deflect it, the fact remains that their IW Engine is still fundamentally built on top of 1990's-era Quake III technology and still bound by the same technical limitations. They need to build a brand new engine from the ground up or license an existing one from the likes of CryTek or Epic if they want any hope of competing with other AAA titles in the technical department.

Those screenshots show the same static, pre-baked lighting and short draw distance we've been seeing for the last 8 years. And where are the high-resolution textures? That brick wall and truck look truly awful. How does the game take up 70GB with textures looking like that? Not only is the game a waste of hard drive space, but it's also poorly optimized and a waste of computing resources. It runs worse than BF4 and even people with high-end desktop rigs are experiencing performance issues.

Not to mention the ridiculous and completely artificial minimum requirement of 6GB RAM when people have proven that the game doesn't even use 1/3 of that. 6GB is more than what BF4 requires and Ghosts won't even run if you have 4GB, although I'm sure there are workarounds. I bet the poor optimization and artificially high system requirements were done by Infinity Ward on purpose to try to cloud the fact that there's nothing "next-gen" at all about their latest game.

Game takes around 35gb but i agree, they do need a new engine once they retire the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The reviews pouring in have been overwhelmingly negative, the outlier being IGN of course, which gave Ghosts an 8.8 out of 10. In comparison, they gave BF4 on PC an 8.5.

But nobody trusts IGN to give an impartial and unbiased review of any CoD game. Everybody knows they're paid to worship every new one that comes out no matter how awful it is.

Well, you know what they all say, you can't spell ignorant without IGN.

Gotta agree with the video, COD Ghosts has no dedicated server support at all. Never once had a message about host migration on Black Ops 2 and the game actually showed the ping of each player on PC.
But its a shame it still works better than Battlefield 4 at this point, since it dont crash to desktop all the time. :(

Sad isn't it? These are the top AAA titles for 2013 and while they have good production value are executed very very poorly.

No, that article is just flat-out misconstruing the facts. $1 billion is the number that was shipped to retail stores worldwide, not what was actually sold to consumers on the first day.

You are right the new SP patch seems good. The multiplayer patch however...I am still on 60 FPS + and stuttering regardless of what I do - looks like I will need to wait for another patch before I can play as it is very hard to shoot someone at the minute!

Kind of annoyed, I've never looked at the minimum specs before of a game, and had no idea it needed 6GB of memory! Ive emailed Steam for a refund but I don't know if they give them or not :(

The weird thing is my PC can't play it when it has an i5 2500 and a 2GB 7850, yet my laptop can with a ULV CPU and integrated graphics :p

The requirements for this game are a joke. You will run it just fine. IW only did this to make Ghosts look next-gen.

Also, there's no way you'll get a refund. It's your own fault.

Its not possible to run the game, the game won't start without 6GB+ memory or without a unofficial patch that can result in a VAC ban.

I know its my fault, but my PC is usually way over the recommended requirements, let alone the minimum requirements so I just didn't think COD would be the one to change that :D

Also, seeing as Steam has access to my PC hardware, why let me buy it or at least offer me a warning if it won't start without the minimum specs.

Probably will end up doing that, but its annoying when every other game runs perfectly fine, and even other people RAM usage shows that it uses much less than 6GB (around 1-2GB mostly).

Yeah Ghosts doesn't even use 2GB RAM. Shame on Infinity Ward for putting in this artificial restriction. Anyone can see through this BS you're pulling. We all know your game is not "next-gen" at all except in its artificially inflated system requirements.

for me the campaign was great and ran perfectly except for literaly 1 water glitch where the water turned totally white. walked about 15 feet and all back to normal. rest of the game as i said was perfect.

multiplayer. hmmm, hackfest and lagfest comes to mind. almost every game there is a hacker and watching the kill cam its blatantly obvious and quite funny watching. youtube is rife with wall hacks, god mode etc.

as far as i know a patch has lowered the minimum ram to 4gb but for the amount of complaints on the steam forum even with top end rigs are having problems and can not play.

my biggest moan on the steam forum is the amount of complaints about game not running and them slagging off IW and steam.
once asked to post their system spec they turn round and say "but i have a brilliant computer that plays blops2 on max". after about 5 posts they finally post their spec and it turns out they only have 32bit,4gb ram,9800gts and lots with intel4000.
dont these people ever learn to read requirements first.

all in all i prefered this way much more than B4

I regret buying this game, a lot. It runs awfully on my machine (i7 quad and 8870m). I get the same fps on the lowest settings as on the highest settings, which is a lot of the time around 25 fps. Even, in very rare occasions when the framerates are good, the game still lags and stutters like crazy. The game is ugly, like really ugly, so that doesn't justify the performance at all. For the few maps and the start of SP it just seems they spammed trees to make it look graphically advanced while their engine is outdated as hell. The textures are a nightmare. PS2-grade resolution right there. Yet it runs worse than crysis 3.

I've tried many fixes and drivers, but no matter what it remains unplayable.

I really wanted to give the campaign a chance but the game, on my machine, just simply isn't playable. I know I don't have a crazy fast pc, but still, it should handle a game like this without any problems on medium to high settings.

I really hope they patch the game so I can enjoy it. Do you guys think they're going to bring out a patch in the future? I have my doubts since PC isn't IW's priority, in any way.

I played it first on my oldish Dell
    The spec is:

    I7 740QM
    Geforce GTX 435m
    6BG Ram

It runs in low res, with not so great graphics, but it run no problem.
According to Gamedebate online, it should not play, with my spec.

I used the Nvida Geforce experience software to optimize my machine for the game.

    What spec is your PC?

A question about the Steam patch which is available for download.
I cannot find it on Steam anywhere.
Does that mean I already have it?
