Should I get this game for PC? Or PS3?

It really just depends on the peron IMO. I have a hard time with a controller as I'm so used to a mouse and KB, so I would vote for PC. Lots of people like the controllers, so they would choose PS3. I think though if you have a powerful enough machine to handle all of the graphics and not have to play at all low settings, why not PC?
-
PCs have customizable graphic options, which personally I always want in a game. Its completely up to you, whether your mates play it on ps3 online or PC online, thats what I would base my decision on, if you like online gaming, thats to say.
-
Also take into account that 80%+ people on here will say PC, obviously since this is a laptop forum, so the results are going to be a little biased.
-
Biased by the fact that every single game looks and plays better on a PC.
-
but yeah, for fps/rts games anyway. -
Personally, i enjoy it more on a PC, the mouse/keyboaerd is easier/more conveinent than the controller. But thats me, everyone will have a different opinon. The only thing i find better about console games, is you dont have to worry about if its going to work, because all games work on it. There is no specs. But thats beside the point.
I vote PC. -
Would you rather play in the PC's or PS3's online community? Maybe your friends will be playing on the PS3 and you want to play with them.
Can your computer run it at settings higher than the PS3 version?
Is your TV larger than your computer monitor or vice versa? Or can you hook up your PC to your TV? Do you prefer playing on a couch or on a chair? -
pc mods also a good reason for!
user made maps, mods, etc...
plus the PC for the most part is more mature/older than the console croud.
Not to insult, but its a fact that more young kids own ps3 and xbox360 than they do a decent gaming rig -

I have nice comfy couch, and a 46" HDTV
I have a T61p with a quadro fx 570. Not sure if it can really "max it" out though.
I do find using the keyboard and mouse easier, but this will be my first "big" console shooter....I have COD 4 for PC though. -

don't buy CoD WaW. trust me, just leave the taste of CoD4 in your mouth and walk away.
its like eating the best slice of key lime pie ever, and then paying your tab and leaving.
buying WaW after CoD4 is like eating that key lime pie, but then also ordering a chocolate cake and eating it. it just ruins the whole experience. -

Lol, nice analogy.
However, I like World War II games very much. I actually appreciate that Treyarch went back to cover the Easter and Pacific Fronts. -
yea i agree stick with cod 4 but yea i would play it on the ps3 just cause im more used to the console versions, but if you have an ultimate gaming rig capable of the best graphics and resolutions go with that. I do think more young kids are on the xbox than the ps3 tho, since its just so expensive, you dont see nearly as many immature annoying kids running around on PS3 games online as you do on Live, although there are some everywhere thats kinda impossible to escape completely from.
-
Hmm well it will obviously look better on pc, but if the online servers are separate for console and pc I would pick console then. I'm finding more and more often that people are always cheating/hacking online for pc. The beta was completely full of cheaters and since COD has a brief video when you are killed from your killers point its very obvious when they do it. Like shooting through a wall obvious.....

thats not true its honestly a personal preference, especially if your pc can only run the game at low or medium settings. Since my video card is similar to the power of the PS3's it really depends on the game for me, i would play cod on both personally, but when i played left for dead on both i prefered the xbox version, it usuallty depends on the game
-
on a laptop you can play anywhere there is a plug and wifi but i do love the PS3 so it's up to you
-
mouse nd keyboard will destroy a controller anyday if you are used 2 both

FPS + Keyboard + Mouse = Full of WIN

>.> why does everyone post like you can only use a keyboard and mouse for a pc. There have been adapters for the ps3 for at least a year now.
-
I'd play it on PC, first off, because I do not own a Playstation 3, nor do I own a Xbox 360, only a Nintendo Wii, second, I do not really like using a gamepad for shooting games, except for some exceptions I can count using only one of my hand's fingers, third, my "beautiful" is more than able to handle it at an excellent framerate at its native resolution at highest settings, four, all of the people I know have either a Nintendo Wii or a Xbox 360, and... I love my Razer Lycosa and Lachesis' responsiveness and customization.
On PC you can use a gamepad that is alike to the Playstation 3's or Xbox 360's controllers anyway, but I agree with what some people before me have said, the PC version will have more hackers than the consoles', and that in a lot of places, most people use consoles to play and not computers.
So, if you have a powerful enough PC, I'd say go for it, -

Ok, thanks guys.

Hey, Im actually in the same situation. I'm planning to get COD and Dead Space.
I have a 14" laptop with the HD 3650 vs. a PS3 on a 42".
Many have said to get it for the PC, but thats because they have computers with the highest specs offered in the market. So would you still suggest me to get the game for PC based on the video card on my laptop? -
im gunna say PS3 on this one, I myself enjoyed it alot more on the PS3.
-
depends on what kind of laptop you have. if you cant get 60fps on high settings then you better go with console
-
cod4 for when i just want to run and gun by myself.
cod5 for when i want to run and gun with my friends over a large online community. -
yea and the argument about pc being better because it has keyboard and mouse is flawed, people have been able to use a keyboard and mouse with the ps3 since unreal tournament came out. It was an actual in game option in that, but i know people who have gotten it to work in other games where it isnt mentioned in game. If your computer isnt that powerful you might as well go with the ps3 cause at least ull have decent graphics with a steady FPS.

So...in my case which system I should get it for...?
[edit] I don't want to create a new thread b/c it would just be a duplicate of this.
I need to know which system I should get COD5 for because I don't know whether my laptop can handle this game as well as the PS3 console can.
To elaborate...
Which system will run COD5 better (overall smoothness and playability)?
1. 14" laptop with 2.4GHz P8600, HD 3650 (1GB RAM), 4GB DDR2 RAM
OR
2. PS3 console (unknown stats) -
It's all up to what you have currently. The argument over which is better is clearly PC. there's absolutely nothing a console do that a PC cannot. You could play it with a KB&m, 360 controller, or PS3 style controller if you like. You can also get any of them wireless, and place your notebook or desktop next to the big HDTV and play them better than the consoles in your screen's native resolution. The PS3 and Xbox360 render COD:WAW at 1280x720, with vsync, PS3 version averages 50-60fps, and is slightly lower than the PC's max settings, no aa, but hardly noticable at all. That's pretty much what you'll be getting in terms of performance out of it. If you already own a console, the majorty of your friends own the same console+game, and this performs better than your PC can, then by all means get it.
I personally don't know anyone with a PS3, and the people I know who have consoles also own gaming PC's and play FPS's on PC instead, so I'd always say PC unless your system cannot handle acceptable settings with a smooth framerate. But you could buy a desktop PC capable of running this game maxed out in 1920x1080 over 60FPS steady for about $350-$400 if you know how to shop and how to build one.. -
I think imo it depends a lot on what your computer is capable of. If you have a very good machine it is worth on pc if you can run high-max details + good res. But if you have a slow machine there is no point getting on pc as you will struggle more with getting good performance vs graphic details and playability, in which case console would be a superior option.
-
The fact that not only you would be considering getting a game that is on PC for the console let alone asking us what you should do points towards your answer. Trash your PC as you are not worthy and go play your FPS with little thumb sticks and get trash talked by 12 year olds and be a happy little camper. Oh and maybe you could BUY a map pack or 2...
Seriously.
