    Hey,

I'm awaiting arrival of my HP dv6700t. With the system components listed below, how well can I expect Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to perform on it? The game looks freakin' awesome, and I opted for the 8400m gpu in hopes to get a little better game play than the X3100. Can I expect some good results with some potent games from this setup? Anyway, I heard that COD 4 doesn't support Direct x 10 or some sort of shader deal thats on Vista now. Whats the deal with that?

    Specs are:

    - Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
    - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    - 15.4" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
    - 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    - 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS - For Core 2 Duo Processors
    - HP Imprint Finish (Radiance) + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone
    - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth(TM)
    - FREE Upgrade to 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive from 120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive!!
    - LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
    - HP ExpressCard Digital/Analog TV Tuner
    - High Capacity 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    - Microsoft(R) Office Small Business 2007

Well, with my Quadro FX 570M (pro version of 8600M GT GDDR3), I get a max 30-40 fps in WXGA+ (1440 by 900), maximum detail, High Performance power plan, and either none or 2x antialiasing on as well...but it can sometimes drop to 20-25 fps in the most involved battle scences.

I get a max 60 fps in WSVGA (1024 by 640) with medium detail and 4x antialiasing and it runs as smooth as silk..

In your machine, you should run it at 1280 by 768 with medium to low detail and AA at 2x for a good setup.

I have the 128mb version of the 8400 GS and COD4 plays very well but at low to median settings. I havent over clocked it though, and i play at 740x something. Multiplayer is smooth but singleplayer i have to lower my res as its more graphics intensive.
