I guess this poll will be for console people. I could of sworn I seen this release for the PC, but I guess not.

Since we are drawing closer to the release date for MW2, I figure I would make a thread to see if anyone is planning on getting the Prestige Edition, which include "Working" Night Vision Goggles.

Here is a link on some pictures of them being made.

I know for $150, I wont be getting any Military Grade NVG's, but I am hoping for the best, and that they do work, to a degree.

    What do you guys think?

I'm getting the normal PC edition. AFAIK there are no Prestige Edition planned for PC.
Even if those are available for PC I'm just not prepared to spend $150 on it. :p

I could of sworn I seen somewhere they where available on the PC aswell.

Chalk that one up to bad investigation on my part.

Still no harm in discussing it, even if it is for the console. I know a few computer gaming people who will be buying it on the console, including myself.

I'm getting it for the PC, so no.

Anyways, even the cheapest 1st Generation NVG's run upwards of $250, the better 3rd Generation NVG's start at about $2,200. So the ones included with the game must be very cheap, infrared illuminated ones like on video cameras.

I have a very strong feeling soon after launch, you'll be hearing a ton of complaints about the quality of the goggles and how so many customers feel ripped off. The same happened with the Survival Edition of Fallout 3 and its cheap quality clock.

Even though I'd buy the regular edition of the game on the PC, I am still insulted they won't bring the other editions to the PC on principle. COD started on the PC, the other games on the PC received special editions, why not this?

If i was 8 years old, this might seem like a cool idea. But since I'm older and wiser, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Never waste money on this Limited Edition BS, it's never worth it.
"Limited Edition" (or in COD5's case "Prestige") in Video games is just a term used to make the consumer spend more for less. Plus anyone with common sense would know that a decent pair of NVG would cost around $200 separately.

it wouldnt be more for less. it would be spending much more for a little bit more.
