I've been playing COD a few hours now. I've noticed a few "paper-like" object flying through the air during firing scenes.

They are like crampled paper floating, blew by the wind. And then suddenly disappears. The texture is not that ugly on these "papers" nor are they that good-looking.

So I'm wondering if these are artifacts. Or some sort of game feature to improve realism (in a way).

I'm using 8800M GTS, 1440x900, 4x AA, no AF and everything on.

i also have the 6860 and it is great.but i think those are just to make it look better.that third pic looks like a clump of leaves and some of the others look like paper and parts of boxes.

    thanks for the prompt replies.

running ATiTool right now as suggested by my friend, though it doesn't have the drivers that support Vista x64 (the only feature working now is the Artifact Scanner). lol

Got on both my desktop (8800gt) and lappy (9500m gs). Got em in multiplayer too, really makes you think someone is there. Do believe they are normal and not just in that level.

Eh....they're just part of the game! Artifacts do not look like paper gently floating across your screen, trust me ;)

they don't appear on every mission. lol. dang, I'm stuck at the sniping mission where I have to wait for the helicopter to get us rescued. and it's like defending myself and the immobilized captain for 10mins lol. what the?!

Yeah those are just papers blowing in the street. You would know if you were getting artifacts. Your whole screen gets messed up. Happened to me before. lol

I'm not sure if I should say anything or not.

    Meh, I shall.

    With that...

    Possible Spoilers

When you get to the end of that level, where you drop the Capt by the ferris wheel, turn around to where you're facing the wooden fence and the rest of the level. From there you should see a building on the right with a little path on the right of it, going around the building.

Make your way there, planting claymores as you go, then hide again the building which should then be on your left, the border buildings of the map on your right. There's a nice little corner that you can tuck yourself into and from there hide and watch incase any less than friendly Russkies decide to pop their faces in.

From there you pretty much hold out until the bird comes in.
    End Possible Spoilers

Its a bit cheap, sad to say, but it does work.

Those aren't artifacts, like someone else said they are bits of newspapers and debris flying around.

    lol... hiding. haha.

anyway, convinced that those were papers. they just didn't look too good to be a part of the game. :)

    thanks for the replies...
