I'm not a gamer fan.. I just play sometimes for killing time games like Need For Speed Underground or Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (WE9). Since there's no support for dedicated cards oon the inspiron 6400, there's no other choice than that shared card.. will i be able to play those games with that video card?

Wait a while if you can. The 6400 should have a dedicated graphics card solution come up shortly (tentatively coming out with a X1400 solution) esp. now that HP have released their duo core lineup. Alternatively you can check out the dv5000t from HP. 15'4", duo core, geforce 7400 Go. Comparable pricing.

The 6400 is supposed to get dedicated graphics before long.

You can always post the 'What should I buy? FAQ' listed at the top of the 'Ehat should I buy forum?' and we'll help you choose a model that's good as it gets for you. =)

I don't know about those games, but if you don't game (often), don't waste money on a good video card.

I'd recommend an HP dv5000t over the Dell i6400 - better quality, design.

seriously, anyone got that video card?

ChazMan421 : Thank you for your advice, but I have to buy a notebook in Chile.. and that model is not here already... HP is not even selling the ones with turion processors, well just one model without widescreen.

I looked at the requirements of both games and I still don't know. However, I do know that gamers will often underestimate the capacity of integrated cards. True, they are worse and settings need to be turned down; but they often suffice. I've used a 16 MB integrated card for years playing many old FPSs and RTSs.

I use the integrated graphics on my 6000 to play Unreal Tournament 2004 comfortably. There's very little choppiness on medium settings and runs smooth on low. I wouldn't recommend playing anything more advanced than that though.

I use shared memory to play Need For Speed Porche Unleashed and it runs well. My favorite as far as shared memory games is ONI; the fighting game where the heroine can use hand to hand combat or firearms accurately in a 3rd person environment. Demo here:

Works great on my little 1.2 Ghz Vaio T250.

Supposedly, the GMA950 can run the Aero Glass interface fine.

I would take a look at the HP dv5000t series, I posted about it on the front page.
