I already have Origin and Steam as gaming platforms, I don't want to add uPlay to redeem me Watch Dogs 2 activation code. Is there a way to redeem the game through Steam automatically and not have to deal with uPlay?
On a side note, is it true that even if I purchase it myself through Steam, it will still install uPlay?![]()

Nope, Uplay is always needed and you are not able to use their keys on Steam. Unless you buy it from steam and then uplay is installed as well.
Just annoying as hell. -

so what if I buy it from Steam without the redemption code, will Steam also tell me to install uPlay to play it? or would it play and update automatically install in Steam? -

Yes, when buying new Ubisoft titles from Steam you also must install Uplay in order to play them. -

For this very reason I stopped buying games on Steam which have double DRM (i.e. Ubisoft titles, GTA V)Prema and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
When was the last time you ever played an Ubisoft game on PC
?

As far as I know, you cannot.
Can I redeem a uplay game through Steam?
