I downloaded 169.25 driver for my 8600M GT DDR on my xps M1530, i then checked the temperatures, which showed it to be going up to 72 on idle, and 82 while gaming. So i thought i would revert back to normal Dell drivers/windows update drivers, but even though gaming only peaks at about 78 now, the idle temperature still fluctuates to 72, before the fans kick in.

I never knew the temperatures before i used 169.25, but i was wondering if this could have permenantly made my GPU be hot, despite what drivers i put in.

Do laptopvideo2go drivers void your warranty? i didn't think they would because drivers don't OC your card do they?

Yes drivers can change the temps.

Drivers wont void your warranty, 82c is still on the safe range of temperatures.

Try uninstalling video card drivers, run driver cleaner or driver sweeper to remove old drivers fully, then install new drivers. Uninstalling drivers doesn't always remove everything from the system.

just so you know high temperatures are common with my 8600 gt around 65 idle and getting upwards of 85 degrees while gaming

PERMANTENTLY change temps? or just for the duration of the driver being installed?

what about LV2G drivers, they are modded, does that make a difference?

no not PERMANENTLY, unless of course the driver wasn't cleaned out and some part of it is still on your system. have you tried drivercleaner pro, right after uninstalling?

no not permanently, try using driversweeper on safe mode to remove all traces of the driver
