Can a third party Windows 7 theme cause my system to lagg?

I am not sure if I posted this question in the correct thread. This is the only thread that deals with 'software' so I figured it was appropriate.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and I installed this theme: [VS] Snow Leopard for Win7 - Windows 7 Forums


It really is just an incredible theme and I am very happy with it. However, I feel as if it laggs my system just a bit. Is that common or possible?

symptoms:

1.)When I load Ccleaner and try to look at my 'start-up' programs, they seem to load just a bit slower than usual.

2.) When I click the taskbar the icons in the start-menu seem to lagg sometimes and I have to wait a moment for them to generate. (I also use the start orb changing program, not sure if that has anything to do with it)

3.) sometimes within iTunes when I scroll the window it laggs a bit

Nah, those things can't be caused by the theme.

I had the feeling I was in the wrong forum. Can you tell me where I should have posted it? I will post it again if you think that is best.

By the way, the theme needed me to replace the explorer.exe, could that be causing it?


Also, interesting avatar you have. The actor was extremely good at playing the character, the character was insane however and terrible. What are you saying with your avatar?

 

In your explorer, it just changes a bitmap (the startorb) so if it doesnt replace it with an older version of the .exe, then there shouldn't be any issues.. You can try and revert to your old backup of explorer.exe and see how stuff goes..

Regarding my avatar, i guess i just love the way Fiennes acted as that man..
