Hey guys. My son is using an Inspiron 14z. I just want to check if this will run Diablo 3.

It can actually run WoW flawlessly in medium and about 25% less fps in high. Is it safe to assume that it will also run D3?

    2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-2450M processor (2.50 GHz)
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit, English
14 inch High Definition LED Display (1366 x 768) with Truelife
    4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
750GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
8X CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD +/-R Drive)
    Intel® HD Graphics 3000

    Thanks for the help.

    Edit:

I found this D3 minimum requirements:

Windows XP, Vista, or 7 with Direct X 9.0c
    Intel Pentium D 2.8GHz or AMD Athlon 64 4400
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT or ATI Radeon X1950 Pro or better
1GB RAM for Windows XP, 1.5GB RAM for Vista or 7
    12GB disk space

So the above setup is ok when it comes with CPU and others. I'm just not sure about the iGPU.

Others have asked the same question, about whether or not hte Intel HD 3000 can handle D3.

The general answer is "Yes it can", but the long answer is that you will likely have to turn down the graphic settings to make it run smoothly.

Blizzard has done well in the past to make their games compatible with older hardware, so you might be able to get a decent 20-30 fps if you have it on something like 1366x768 and Low-Med.

Thanks. I actually read those threads. My son is in the Philippines so I cant really test his laptop using the beta that's why I want to be sure before I let him buy the game. Than find out later that its not going to work.
I was hoping someone who already tried running the beta using iGPU (Intel HD3000) can confirm how it performed.

Exactly what I'm hoping to see. Thanks.
I also found Tom's Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: July 2011 to confirm that at least Intel 3000 will perform better than G210.
HD3000 is about 3 steps higher than 210 but about 4-5 steps lower than 7800GT as per that chart but at least its going to be playable.
Thanks again. Please accept my measly +rep :D

I wondered why you were asking about the Intel iGPU... when you have a M17x in your signature!

Oh I mentioned in my 1st post, the Inspiron 14z is my son's laptop. That's the one with an iGPU. He is asking me if he can run D3.

Ah serves me right for not reading the first 10 words in your sentence. I knew you had an Inspiron, but I missed the "my son has" part
