    Ok I just got halo 1 pc for x-mas and when I installed it Mcaffe went nuts saying its a harmful program. Is gamespy a bad program?

    That's why you should always disable your anti-virus software when installing a game, just like it says so in the manual! ;)

    gamespy is safe.

    however, its not required for halo 1. there is an in game browser that finds the same servers (i believe)

    by the way, halo 1 pc rocks and a ton of people still play.
