Just wondering if i could fit anything in the 8800 or higher rang into here..and if so, can it be a GTX or a GTS instead of a GS, or not? Thanks. :)

Hi and welcome to the forums!

It's not possible to upgrade to a 8800 your GPU in your Inspiron. Please see this sticky as narsnail suggested.

In the future, please use the search forum and read the stickies. This is a question that is commonly asked, and it should be easy to find the answer.

The 9400 can be upgraded to the 7900GS, maybe the 7900GTX if the 17" XPS that existed at the time supported it (since the 9400 has an XPS equivalent), but that is it.
