Negative. Dell might offer a video card that is better down the line but it will all depend on if the motherboard gets a revision or not.

    Chances are ....no.

    Sorry, mate. :(

Ok first of all you don't 'need' 512mb for Flight Sim X, and if you do as a strange personal preference, I hope you've got a serious wad of cash to spend - decent 512mb of cards that can actually utilize the available memory cost a lot of money and only generally come in huge notebooks. You can get 512mb versions of most mobile cards in some form or another, but they are a complete false economy as the card won't be able to perform well enough to make use of it. Again, unless they're one of the very high end models (7950GTX, 8700GT, etc). I'd rethink if I was you, the Dell Vostros 1500 comes with an 8600GT which is pretty good, and at an affordable price. This is assuming from your post that it's work related or something, and so must be a Vostros.

this laptop is for my dj software mainly, i just wanted to see if i could run flight sim x off it. its got a 1.6 dual core intel, 2 mb of ram, and at most a GeForceTM Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory.

I mean this computer is not only for busines but it seems like vostro u get more than the inspiron 17 inch notebook. cant afford xps.

What do you think? Will it run FS X?

It might run Flight Simulator X at barely playable frame-rates on Low Settings.

what? guys don't knock the 8600 gt. HATERS! it WILL run at playable framrates on medium and possibly high too! (i get 130 avg in cs:s, and have everything maxed out in oblivion and runs PERFECTLY!)

philly have you ever seen an 8600gt used with games? No?? THEN TSFU!

EDIT: are we talking about the 128mb or the 256mb 8600 gt?? cuz i'm talking about about the 256mb gt!

This thread is retarded. Sorry to be so blunt, but seriously, if you think that the RAM size is the main factor of a graphics card there days, then you seriously don't need to be concerned with investing in a "512 MB" one. Please do some research and come back. :p

I doubt he can get max settings on an 8600GT. To the OP, we are not bashing your video card, simply telling you it's limits, if the card is not to your expectations, take it like a man, no need to deny it.
