    hi friends, first sorry for my poor english.
    my vaio VGN-NR21Z has a broken nvidia 8400M GT graphic card and i can´t use my pc.
    Can i change my graphic card???
    i read something about MXM modules but i understand if i will can buy a new graphic card and change it.

    Your Vaio does not have MXM. The graphics card is soldered to the motherboard and you cannot replace it.

    You can swap your motherboard but you r better off buyig a new laptop

    I say bake it. About the only thing that might work. And if its dead anyways no harm in trying.

    or try to send it back cos sony extended warranties on some models to 3 years for this problem

    Yeah, you might have a warranty extension for the GPU. I'm not sure if you can bake it because it is soldered in the CPU... I have not heard about baking motherboards. Also, wouldn't a DIY ViDock solution make it not portable?

    There is a guy out there who has pictures showing him baking the full motherboard on his Hp dv6700 series. Got it working. I'll be trying it with this rig when i get my new MSI.

    there is also someone who baked a motherboard of a gateway 6831FX or 6860FX (don't remember which one) and it worked in the end.

    Can anyone tell me if my GPU is MXM?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6998

    With a nVidia GeForce GT 230M

    I got a bad feeling it's on the MoBo for good. :(

    i doubt u can.. as far as i know , toshiba doesn't use MXM...
