Hey, wondering if my laptop could habdle CoD4 on max.... thanks. And if not, what settings? Really don't care about it too much, as long as gameplay is smooth.

    CPU: Intel i3 350M (2.26 GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M w/1 GB DDR3
    RAM: 4 GB DDR3
    Display (resolution): Unsure - sorry.

Oh, and what settings could I get away with if I was recording w/Fraps?

    Thanks.

I'm assuming this is a laptop he already has, ronnie.

Anyway, those specs should be just fine. CoD4 is based on a heavily modified id Tech 3 engine, very efficient on computer resources. As long as you're not running at 1920x1080 or something like that, you should have no trouble. You may have to compromise some settings (like AA and AF), but overall it will be just fine. For reference, I can play it on the netbook in my sig at native resolution and mostly minimum settings.

As for recording, I advise against Fraps. For starters, it's almost $30 if you don't want to be limited to 30 second clips, and when you record, it actually limits your game frame rate to the frame rate of your recording. And the output video files tend to be enormous.

I personally use WeGame. It has a free version that lets you record in lower quality, and the full version can record in HD. It doesn't limit your frame rate, and video files are much smaller. Quality isn't that bad either.

It should be able to run it maxxed out maybe not with AA. I ran it maxxed out with an i3 330 and a gt330m and it was perfectly smooth but thats because my native res is only 1336x768. If your native res is higher you might struggle unless you turn down the resolution.

    Yes minus AA x 8.

I actually find that CoD4 looks better with everything not maxed out. There are some texture settings that make the game look worse when all settings are maxed. I guess that's open to interpretation though.
