Hi all I am new to this forum, my uncle in the USA is bringing me a Dell vostro 1000 for me christmas as a gift.

    Here are the Specs;
    Athlon X2 64 bit TK 53 1.7 GZ
2GB DDR 2 dual channel Ram
Radeon Xpress 1150 256MB hyper memory
120 GB HDD sata 5400 RPM
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    15.4" WXGA LCD

    now I have a Desktop
    1GB DDR 400 ram
    Athlon Xp 1800+ 1.5 GZ
    256MB radeon 9600 Pro powercolor 8X AGP
    Windows XP professional
    AOC 19" WXGA LCD monitor

I want to know which system will give better results?
I usually run DOOM 3 on 1024x768 @2X AA and NO Shadows but everything else enabled and Ultra Quality
This old PC system actually runs DOOM 3 with 24-30 fps

I want to know how will my DELL Vostro 1000 that I am getting christmas will run Far Cry and Doom 3 compared to my old Desktop.

damn it so how big is the gap?

if my old desktop at that setting can run doom 3 at 24~30 fps how much FPS will you say my DELL vostro will do?

maby lets say 20~35 FPS at that same setting?

Hmm, anti glare means it is matte... It is all user preference though. Some prefer anti glare because they do not like to see their reflections while others like true life because they want more vibrant movies and games. True life also tends to be brighter than anti glare screens.
